Volunteering with the MIT Club of Habitat for Humanity is an incredibly rewarding experience, a chance to escape from the pressures of MIT and immerse yourself in pure community service. There is nothing as refreshing as spending the day outdoors, constructing a building that will provide safety and security to a family in need. There is nothing as heart-warming as hugging the family that will live in that house, knowing that you did something to drastically improve their quality of life.
Volunteering with the MIT Habitat is as much of a time commitment as you would like it to be. Attend one Saturday build day or every build day, attend the spring break trip, and help out with events on campus.
All members of the MIT community – undergrads, grad students, staff, and faculty – are welcome to volunteer with us. No experience is required!
Also, if you would like to become involved with MIT Habitat on a leadership level, apply to join Habitat exec! Email Josh Zeidman (email@example.com) for more information.
