MIT Habitat for Humanity Spring Beaver Dash 5k

When? Sunday, April 28, 2013 (10:00 AM ET)
Individual Check-Ins: 4/28 9:15AM-9:45AM

Suggested donation: There is no cost to participate in the Beaver Dash, though a suggested donation of $10 per individual 5k participant would be greatly appreciated, and get a race day t-shirt if you make a $10 donation by 4/22!. Proceeds from the Beaver Dash will be used to sponsor an MIT Habitat home in the Boston area. Donations can be made by MasterCard, Visa, or TechCash. 

Volunteers are needed at the Beaver Dash to greet runners, assist with registration and directions, and cheer the runners on!

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 men and top 3 women

Habitat for Humanity has a vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.  We welcome all people to build and repair simple, decent, affordable houses with those who lack adequate shelter. Here at MIT, the Habitat for Humanity club helps fulfill this mission by encouraging members of the community to volunteer with Habitat and by increasing awareness on campus of the global housing crisis.  We hold multiple build days each month, when volunteers spend the day working on building local Habitat homes with our affiliates in the Cambridge-Boston area.  We also go on an annual spring break trip to help on building projects in other parts of the country.  Events like the Beaver Dash raise awareness and funds for Habitat, as well as our hopes to sponsor an MIT Habitat for Humanity home in the Cambridge-Boston area.
